Hi everyone. My name is Mary and I am doing all I can to help my oldest sister (also my bestest friend) to get through not one, but two cancer.
Let me tell you all a little about my sister first. Her name is Mai Ly. She is 30 years old and got married just about 2 years ago. She was my first bestest friend and pretty much like a mother and father to me. She's smart, silly and caring. She is someone who I admire the most. Someone who won't let words and others bring her down. She is someone who would do all she can and go all the way for her own family. She makes a living working with adults and elderly people with disabilities and loves the people she cares for. She spends her time taking care of them day in and day out and come home to take care of her family.
The part that breaks my heart the most is, she is someone who loves children and now, she won't be able to have any. It was right around the same time when I found out I was pregnant. I was super excited to tell my sister she was going to be an aunt, although I was hoping she would be the first to have a baby in the family. The same day I was about the break the news to her, she told me she had Uterine Cancer. If she doesn't get her uterus removed, things can get really bad. She told me how upset and sad she is because that meant that she won't be able to have kids at all. My heart literally shattered in a million pieces. So I couldn't tell her about my great news. She was in and out of the hospital. It was and is still hard for me to be there because I live quite far from her now that I am engaged. She eventually found out on her own that she was going to be an aunt and she's been supportive. Even at her worst, she still smiles and worries about my health. On Monday, the 21st of September, she went in, and had to have a total hystetectomy. Thinking that all will go well and she will be home the same day, we all discover that she has another cancer. She also have Ovarian cancer and will be undergoing chemo and radiation in the next coming weeks

My brother in law is constantly taking off work to be there for my sister. My sister is missing work and they aren't financially stable because of all the medical bills piling up. Although she is fighting this ugly disease she's more worried about how her family feels and about her job. So I just want to be able to help as much as I can so she can rest and focus on recovering instead of work or anything else.
