Hi everyone! I am making this gofundme to raise money for my dog Jackson (Jax /Jackie). On April 14th, I brought him to the vet for what appeared to be a simple cough. After running multiple tests, Jackson was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). The cough was due to pulmonary edema from congestive heart failure. With a few medications, we are able to give him more time with us and better manage the symptoms associated with heart failure. On top of the DCM, Jackson has a pre-existing neurogenic bladder condition, and his new diuretic worsened this condition because he cannot empty his bladder on his own. Jax had to be hospitalized from April 21-23 to get catheterized, run multiple tests, meet with specialists, and figure out how to manage the DCM and bladder issues together. Each of these present with their own challenges, but together it has made his treatment much more complicated. Jackson can no longer hold his bladder, but he is finally adjusting to all his new medications.

I have had the honor of raising Jax since he was a puppy. I am still in shock and have not stopped crying. My heart is shattered, but I have to stay strong for Jackson! He may look intimidating, but he is a gentle giant with the sweetest soul. He loves to play fetch, but his favorite activity is playing with bubbles! The best part of my day is coming home and Jax greeting me with a shoe and doing zoomies and in that moment I feel his unconditional love surround me. Jackson loves his sister Jenny and she is not ready to say goodbye either. Jackson has taught me so much in 5 years and I want to be able to create so many more memories with him.

I am asking for help so that I can provide Jax with the necessary treatment to manage his DCM and neurogenic bladder and to also enjoy his time left. The money will be used to pay for his vet visits, specialty doctors, hospital stays, specialty diet and multiple medications. Everyday is truly a gift and I hope I have many more months with my best friend.
