Hello friends! Over the last month, God has been dramatically changing my plans for the fall. Near the end of May, a close friend and mentor gave me a word about doing a DTS at YWAM Kona. My first thought about this word was that it was for a couple of years from now. So I shelved the word and moved on. Then God surprised me by giving me another word from a close family member about doing YWAM sooner rather than later. After that, I began to really bring this to God in prayer. Throughout June, God gave me some really sure signs that this was His plan. I put my application in and was accepted. And now I know for sure that I will be going to Kona this fall to do a DTS through YWAM.
YWAM is a Christian mission organization that focuses on training youth on how to know God better and make Him known. I will be attending a DTS (discipleship training school) in Kona, Hawaii for 3 months of the lecture phase where I will be learning in a classroom environment. During this phase, I will also be learning hands-on skills to benefit the community where I will serve. Some of the skills will include welding, iron working, rough carpentry, finish carpentry and masonry. Lecture phase is followed by the outreach phase where I will be applying everything I've learned on a cross-cultural outreach. My classes in Kona begin on September 26th and I will leave for outreach on December 16th and I will be on a foreign mission field for three months.
Financially:
Training Phase: $3,995
Outreach Phase: $4,000–6,000 and be on a foreign mission field for three months.
*This does Not include airfare to Kona or airfare home.
