Our beautiful girl Mabel was rushed to the emergency vet on Friday night after suddenly becoming weak, lethargic, and developing a fever. On Wednesday she was her usual happy self, playing, eating treats, and being her goofy, loving self. By Thursday she wasn’t feeling quite right, but we hoped she would sleep it off. By Friday, she could barely stand, and we knew something was terribly wrong.

She’s been in the hospital ever since, and the vets have been running every test they can to find out what’s going on with her little body. They are checking for infections, immune issues, and anything else that could explain how quickly she declined. Each round of testing brings us closer to answers, but it also adds to the mounting costs. So far, we’ve spent around $4,000, and the bills continue to grow as her treatment goes on.

Mabel is only two years old. She’s hilariously goofy, incredibly loving, and the heart of our little family. She adores her cat sister Fran, and her whippet sister Remi has been completely lost without her. Our home feels so quiet and empty without Mabel’s playful energy and her big, gentle heart.

We’ve already used our savings and are seeking financial help from the bank, but any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. Every donation goes directly towards Mabel’s vet care, testing, and treatment to help us get her well enough to come home.

We’re holding onto hope that with the right treatment, our sweet Mabel will soon be back where she belongs, curled up with Remi, Effy and Fran, surrounded by love.
