Randy's Road to Recovery

Randy Hart is a father of two wonderful girls. He’s a dedicated civil servant, with a nearly 20 year career of serving the public at large. I met Randy when I first started working for the federal government, nearly ten years ago at the U.S. Census Bureau where I met him for the first time.
Unfortunately for Randy, he had to supervise me. But I was the lucky one, as he is the one of the most generous, kind, caring and decent people that I have ever gotten to know in my life. Over the years, and many long hours of incredibly stressful times together, he became a lot more than just a work colleague or a supervisor to me but a treasured friend. He was and is always there for people in need, whether it’s his workplace, church, or community. But now he needs our help.
Earlier this month, Randy suffered from a seizure while driving. At first he was only hospitalized, but his condition rapidly deteriorated. We were obviously first worried that it was caused by COVID-19. Fortunately, those tests came back negative. However, his condition worsened and he had to be put into the intensive care unit.
While being treated, Randy had to be put into a medical coma to try and stabilize his vitals and was also intubated for over a week. Lab cultures finally confirmed that it was a near fatal case of staph pneumonia.
He’s on the mend now but has medical bills out of pocket and therapies that aren’t fully covered by his insurance. We can’t imagine what he’d be facing if he didn’t have insurance, and there are too many countless others on this and other websites seeking financial help who didn’t have insurance when disaster struck.
A lot of people need help right now, and if you’re able to contribute here it’d be greatly appreciated by everyone.
