For several years, I have been trying to obtain the electric wheelchair that I urgently need, but time after time, every authority I have approached has rejected my request. My only existing wheelchair is old, and even the official service center responsible for maintaining it has declared it defective. Yet no arguments or evidence seem capable of influencing the bureaucratic system.

I must note that, unfortunately, I am not alone in this problem. Even the United Nations has drawn attention to the Netherlands’ treatment of people with disabilities (https://nos.nl/l/2536799). The issue periodically breaks through into the media:

— but as you can imagine, this does not make things any easier for me personally. I have truly gone through every possible institution: from contacting my huisarts and my insurance company, through the municipality and the courts, and even reaching the King’s Office. My lawyer openly states that the case has no legal prospects and has essentially washed their hands of it.

Having exhausted all available options, I am asking you for financial assistance.

I am full of creative ideas and plans, the realization of which directly depends on having a safe, reliable electric wheelchair that meets all the needs related to my disability.
