Hello dear friend/kind stranger. My name’s Eden (they/them), I’m a 25 year old transmasc musician and community organiser from London. And I’m fundraising to get top surgery!

I came out as non-binary in 2021 and started taking T in 2023. Top surgery is something I’ve wanted since I figured out I was trans, but I’ll be honest, it’s taken me a while to muster up the courage to share that with the world. But yay me for being brave! Here we go…

I’ve been incredibly lucky to socially transition and to begin medically transitioning with T, and this has helped massively with my dysphoria. But there has always been something missing. Well actually, a lack of 2 things missing, if you get my drift ( . 人 . )

After years of binding, taping, ruining my posture and hiding behind baggy clothes, I’ve realised that this will never be enough to alleviate my dysphoria to a point where I feel comfortable in my body.

The other side of this coin is, of course, the financial burden of care like this. My line of work, coupled with being an AuDHD king who can only work so many hours before burnout disables me, has made it difficult to make any real progress in saving up to pay for the surgery myself.

And so here we are. I’m reaching out to my wonderful community to ask for support in fundraising for this life affirming care.

100% of funds raised will go towards medical and surgical costs, and aftercare costs. As I’m freelance and my work is contract-based, these funds will also help to cover lost income during recovery. I’ve popped a more detailed budget breakdown below for those who are interested.

Base Costs (quoted):

- Consultation fee: £300

- Surgery fee: £6,650

- Hospital fee: £2,250

Additional Costs (expected):

- Aftercare (compression garments, comfort aids, prescriptions etc.): ~£250

- Lost income during recovery: ~£500

- GoFundMe fees: ~£300 (2.9% per transaction)

= £10,250 total*

*Any leftover funds will be given back into the community.
