INTRODUCTION
A debut short-film by Pamela Woisin
Moving On is a deeply personal project, born from a desire to explore the quiet, often invisible layers of grief. As both the writer and first-time director, this story represents more than just a narrative, it’s an emotional lens through which I examine how we hold onto what we’ve lost and how we learn, slowly and painfully, to let go. This is my last year in film school and I wanted to make my graduation film on the script I was proud of writing and even though I haven’t had the experience of losing a sibling I wanted to share how I thought it would affect me.
My film doesn’t aim to give answers, but instead offers one of some of the many different ways that one could end up going through grief. For Micah, the act of packing up his brother’s room becomes a metaphor for acceptance. For someone else, it might be something entirely different. And that’s the point: grief is never one-size-fits-all. It’s messy, illogical, sometimes surreal, and always deeply personal.
Visually, I intend to keep the world intimate and still, letting long takes, muted tones, and meaningful silences reflect Micah’s internal state. The colour palette will drift through cool blues and greys, capturing the emotional chill of grief, then gradually soften as Micah begins to heal. Cassian, though ‘ghostly’, will be presented with warmth and familiarity, less a supernatural entity, more a reflection of Micah’s memory and unresolved emotion.
This story is not about death, it's about living. About what’s left behind. About the objects, spaces, and moments that keep us connected to the past. In telling Moving On, my hope is to remind viewers that it’s okay to grieve differently, to hold on longer, or to let go in your own time. There’s no clean ending to grief, but there can be peace.
As a storyteller, I feel a deep responsibility to portray this emotional reality with honesty and empathy. I’m proud to guide this project from page to screen and to create a space where audiences can see themselves, their pain, and—hopefully—their healing.

INTRODUCING THE CHARACTERS
Where will your contributions go?
To bring "Moving On" to life with the production quality it deserves we are dedicating 100% of the funds raised to both pre-production and production cost. In order to do justice to this story we are relying on the generosity of our supporters to cover the cost.
A significant portion of our raised budget will go towards covering logistical aspects of this production.
This includes:
LOCATION FEES
In order to secure a beautiful apartment, where the story unfolds, we need enough funds to secure the property. We are aiming at a two-day shoot.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is required to transport all camera equipment and Cast/Crew safely to the filming destination.
CATERING
We would like to hire a catering service, that provides Hot meals to Cast/Crew throughout the duration of the shoot.
CAMERA & LIGHTING
Some planned shots, require more advanced Camera Equipment , that is only able to be accessed via a rental company. We require fees, to cover the rental costs for this equipment.
PRODUCTION DESIGN
Furthermore, our production department is in need for funds, in order to get the necessary props for the whole shoot.
MOODBOARDS
THE IMPACT
By donating, you get to help me tell a story that I wrote and a story that tells one of the many ways people can grieve. It also helps the viewers who watch this story see that not everything happens in time, not everything needs to be rushed but it helps communicate that there is no time limit on grieving or moving on. This story focuses on the aspects of remembrance and family.
Thank you for all the support and any donation given by you!
With love,
