In loving memory of Salvador “Chavita” Cortes. 01/11/1997-06/29/2025

We are currently raising funds in memory of Salvador “Chavita” Cortes to assist with funeral costs and expenses. Chavita was a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and friend to many. On Sunday morning, God called him home to His Eternal Kingdom after an unexpected car accident. Chavita was always full of spirit and joy any time he walked into a room. He was always super easy to talk to. He was one of those people that felt like you had known him for years even if it had been just a few minutes. He made you feel seen and would take the time to talk to everyone around him. He was always everyone’s biggest cheerleader and only wanted the best for those he cared about. Even if that meant working harder to support those around him. I know we will all miss his infectious laugh, his personality, the sound of his voice, and most of all, who he was. It is so hard to wrap our heads around this tragedy as it came very unexpectedly. I know Chavita will live long in all of our hearts and memories and will never be forgotten. There is so much more that could be said to honor his memory and it's heartbreaking to see his time on this earth was short as he was only 28, but we know he is in a better place. In addition to funeral expenses, funds will help cover travel costs for his siblings, Jackie (18) and Carlos (24), as they work to reunite Chavita with his parents in Mexico—who are devastated and longing to be with their son one last time. The goal is to bring Chavita home so he can be laid to rest with the Cortes and Morales family. Any remaining donations will go toward supporting his younger siblings, whom he helped care for.

This tragedy serves as a reminder that tomorrow is never promised. Please hug your loved ones a little tighter and remind them how much you love them. Thank you for your support and we love and miss you Chavita. Rest easy.

Actualmente estamos recaudando fondos en memoria de Salvador “Chavita” Cortes para ayudar con los costos y gastos funerarios. Chavita fue un hijo, un hermano, un tío, un sobrino, un primo y un amigo para muchos. Dios decidió que era su momento de regresar a su Reino la madrugada del domingo, tras un accidente automovilístico inesperado.Chavita siempre estaba lleno de vida y alegría cada vez que entraba a una habitación. Siempre era muy fácil hablar con él. Era de esas personas que te hacían sentir como si lo conocieras de toda la vida, aunque solo hubieran pasado unos minutos. Te hacía sentir visto y se tomaba el tiempo para hablar con todos los que lo rodeaban. Siempre fue el mayor animador de todos y solo deseaba lo mejor para quienes amaba, incluso si eso significaba trabajar más duro para apoyar a los suyos.Sé que todos extrañaremos su risa contagiosa, su personalidad, el sonido de su voz, y sobre todo, la persona que era. Es muy difícil comprender esta tragedia ya que ocurrió de forma totalmente inesperada. Sé que Chavita vivirá para siempre en nuestros corazones y recuerdos, y nunca será olvidado. Hay mucho más que se podría decir para honrar su memoria, y es desgarrador ver que su tiempo en esta tierra fue tan corto, ya que solo tenía 28 años, pero sabemos que está en un lugar mejor.Además de los gastos funerarios, los fondos también ayudarán a cubrir los costos de viaje de sus hermanos Jackie (18) y Carlos (24), quienes están haciendo todo lo posible por reunirse con Chavita y llevarlo de regreso con sus padres en México—quienes están devastados y anhelan estar con su hijo una última vez. El objetivo es llevar a Chavita a casa para que pueda descansar en paz con la familia Cortes y Morales. Cualquier donación restante se destinará a apoyar a sus hermanos menores, a quienes él ayudaba a cuidar.Esta tragedia nos recuerda que el mañana no está garantizado.
