Nursing student needs your help!
Assalamualaikum everyone (peace be upon you)!
I’m Linda, and I am hosting this GoFundMe for my best friend’s daughter, Jalilah.
Jalilah is a first generation, Muslim Cham (Southeast Asian ethnic minority), college student who has just been accepted into The University of San Francisco’s competitive two-year Nursing program. She is the second oldest of six children and aspires to be a Registered Nurse. Ever since Jalilah was a little girl, she has always displayed compassion towards people. She worked hard academically, finished high school one year early, and began community college at an early age to fulfill academic requirements for nursing programs. Her upbringing, kindheartedness, and empathetic tendencies will make her an inspirational nurse one day, InshaAllah (God-willing). One of her goals is to provide humanitarian aid locally and abroad. She is fluent in English, Cham, and Arabic.
We are asking for community help to make this a reality for her. Grants are not offered for the program at this time and Jalilah cannot receive an interest-based loan because of her religious beliefs. The University of San Francisco’s tuition is about $50k a year. The first month has been paid by her friend as a personal interest-free loan. Please help her move forward on this opportunity by having the rest of the year covered with your generous donations so that monthly payments to the school can continue. Any amount will help towards this goal! School starts August 24th!
JazakumuAllahuKhairan (may God reward you with goodness) and thank you to everyone who donates and shares this fundraiser!
