This is Lucius, a retired airport security dog and more importantly the newest member of our family. 

He is an 8 year old lab that loves food and all the rubs! He was found roaming the streets of Georgia with no home or family to take care of him. He was sent to a training facility to become a TSA security dog then was relocated to California where he worked at the Oakland Airport for five years. While Lucius wasn’t working he lives at a local kennel with no real family to give him love or toys to play with. He worked hard to protect so many of us with his service. 

In November 2021 Lucius retired with honors but had no where to go. We decided to adopt him to give him a better life, a home, and his very first toy. 

He has just been diagnosed with an unknown mass in his abdomen, which if he does not get removed will kill him. It breaks our hearts to know that he is in so much pain after just getting a taste of the good life.

We understand the needs and concerns everyone is facing today, and completely understand if the only support we receive is love and good thoughts. 

I think we can all agree dogs are better than people in most ways and deserve the best love and care they can receive.
