Kristy's Cancer Journey

Hello, my name is Cheryl and I am raising money for my daughter Kristy. About mid February Kristy left work sick and with pain in the abdomen and around to her back. She thought it was kidney stones, but it was not! They found a mass in her colon and initially thought it was colorectal cancer which had mestasized to other organs including the lungs and liver. A liver biopsy was scheduled and shockingly the cancer is metastatic melanoma. She has 8 spots on the brain, the mass in the colon, lung and spleen involvement. She will be treated with immunotherapy, which began this week. In addition, she had radiation to the two largest spots on her brain. Her oncologist is optimistic as he's had good results with the drugs they are using. He hopes the radiation will be one and done situation and the immunotheray will take care of the rest. I'm asking for help because this will cut their income considerably. Tony, her fiance, is very supportive and has been to all of her appointments so far. So, with Kristy not working and his income decreased it will be difficult for them. She has insurance so we hope it will be sufficient to cover most of the procedures. But any help for living expenses would be greatly appreciated and not wasted. If you have ever been through a disease like this, you know how all the little things she needs will add up. They will have to travel from their home in Buckingham Co., VA. to Charlottesville frequently. Thank you so much.
