Gene (EK) Wooten Medical Emergency

Donation protected
My son in law, Gene (EK) Wooten, was taken to the ER on Thursday morning for severe abdominal pain. A CT scan revealed he had a ruptured colon in the lower intestines and he was critical. They did emergency surgery and indicated that he had a large rupture and was extremely infected in his abdomen. The surgeon advised it was extremely bad and they expect it ruptured 24-36 hours before he was admitted.  On Saturday, he went into cardiac v-tach and later A-fib, which caused him to be moved to the ICU.  The cardiologist have him scheduled for a TEE scope to check for any heart related issues and blood clots. If all looks good they will do a cardioversion by shocking his heart to try to get his heart back into a normal rhythm. The hospital wants him to have a home health nurse part time for a period of time once he returns home.  His recovery will be a long one and unfortunately, he will need to have another surgery in 2-4 months.  He really needs our prayers right now and I know he, Leanne and Brooke could really use any donations possible to go toward his high insurance deductible, extra medical care, supplies, extended time off work, etc.  His insurance is insufficient and this was completely unexpected and will cause a deep financial burden during this trying time for their family.  Gene is a combat Veteran and retired North Carolina State Trooper.  He currently works part time for Cabarrus County Sheriff Department.  Any prayers and donations are greatly appreciated.
