Katie Dotson-Smith 29, wife of Trooper Sean Smith, Region 1 District B Jacksonville HP Office, passed away on January 18th 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. Katie was a double lung transplant recipient at the age of 16. Katie fell ill on December 20th 2019 and was admitted to St Luke's ICU unit the same day. She was placed top spot on the transplant list but no match was found in time, and sadly passed away due complications with her lungs. Sean and Katie were married September 21st 2019. She had a bright soul and was one of the most caring, loving persons you would ever meet. With a laugh that would brighten anyone's day. She never let her condition bring her down and always worked on making other people happy. We are looking to help ease some of the financial burden away from her husband Sean, in hopes to help him recover from this tragic loss. Any contributions and prayers are welcomed. Please keep Sean and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
