Hi, my name is Karen, and I’m the daughter of Leslie Rock and Andrew Reason. In the early hours of January 16, they woke to police officers and were evacuated from their home as a fire broke out in an upper unit of their triplex. They were able to escape with their 2 chihuahuas, important documents and medications, but have no access to the property for their clothes or belongings as it was declared a crime scene under active investigation.

If anyone knows my parents, they know of their unending generosity and kindness, proven by endless love for their friends and neighbours, a seat at the table for anyone alone at the holidays, a plate of home-cooked food for the hungry. Leslie worked for several years as a crossing guard in the LaSalle community, protecting our kids and even heroically pushed a child from a speeding car preventing tragedy, before she retired in 2024. Andrew has just finished an intense series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments in November that prevented him from working, and is still awaiting final results to see if his treatments were a success.
