As most of you know Francesca had surgery September 2019, for her VNS Implant,  we felt blessed to have such technology to help Cesca battle her seizures. In these 5 months we saw small differences, her seizures became less and the best part was being able to help stop her seizures with the swipe of the magnet;  this past week her incision site on her neck became red and swollen, it never truly healed in these 5 months. Thursday morning her incision opened, we could see the wires, that belonged to the vns;  we contacted her surgeon and he asked us to bring Cesca to the UCLA emergency room.

Cesca was admitted into the hospital Saturday morning and following the removal of her VNS implant, she’s gone under many tests to determine that the infection did not spread. At the moment Cesca is on antibiotics, recovering beautifully , but as a precaution we will be in the hospital for a week. We are sad and worried about the increase of seizure without her implant, but we know that this was the right call for Cescas health and safety.

And this is where I ask for your help, we can only prepare so much for these situations, my husband and I will be missing a week of work and money will be tight.
Anything helps us, money will be going towards food and other expenses while we’re here at UCLA.

We appreciate everyone, thank you for your help.
