My name is Mitch Pleysier and I am a 23 year old football player from Australia currently staying in New Mexico. My whole life I all i have wanted to do is play professional sport and I have been working towards this goal relentlessly since I was 8 years old.
I have had to face all sorts of set backs along the way from injuries, medical illness, financial issues, family problems, sports pollitics pretty much anything you can name I have had to face it at some stage during my life. For most people facing just one of these problems would be enough for them to give up but I have pushed through each and every one with the hope that my break would be just around the corner.
Last year I thought I had finally gotten my big break recieving a full athletic scholarship to attend college. I was so excited because after 15 years of feeling like i was just going around in circles it finally felt like I was making a step in the right direction. I trained harder than ever to make sure i was going to be physically and mentally ready to comepete at the college level but just 4 weeks out from leaving I suffered a bad knock to my knee and completely tore my MCL and was told that it would take anywhere from 4-6 months to heal. When the school found out they pulled my scholarship and in the blink of an eye my dream was shattered. I lost my dream, my job and my motivation all in one split second.
After months of battling with depression, having no money and rehab I was finally back on my feet and told my self I would give it one last try. I found out about some open trials for some arena football teams across the country so I sold everything I owned, bought a plane ticket and flew over on the next flight to give it a shot. After being turned down by the first few I was finally given a chance by the team in Albuquerque and finally all my hard work had paid off.
This is where i am requiring some help. The visa i came over on is about to expire on the 24th of April. I am able to obtain a better visa which will allow me to stay for longer but unfortunately it is going to require me to fly back to australia to apply for it. I simply do not have enough money or anything left for me to sell to able to afford another plane ticket back and the team is unwilling to help me out. I refuse to let money be the reason i fall short on achieving my dream so I am asking you for whatever help you may be able to donate no matter how big or small everything will help. I hate having to ask for money but I have tried absolutely everything else and this is my last option. If you are able to help I am forever greatful and if there is ever a time in your life when you are in need of help I hope that good karma comes back around and there is someone there for you in your time of need.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you for your support.
