Hi. I'm very reluctant to even be doing this but I have run out of options. I need to get surgery on my neck to hopefully alleviate the pain from my herniated disc that I've had now for 11 months. The doctor told me 90 percent of cases like mine heal on their own in 6-12 weeks. I unfortunately am not one of those people. I have tried every treatment the doctors have thrown at me. Physical therapy, massage therapy, shots directly in my spine, traction, you name it. Nothing has helped me with the pain and discomfort. It has made my quality of life horrible. I can't do anything that I need to do throughout the day without being in excruciating pain at the end of the day. I have been taking care of my elderly parents the past few years and this has made doing that very difficult. I actually started a job a vew weeks ago out of financial necessity that i had to stop because I physically couldn't do it. Ive also had some other health problems ive had to deal with. I had a tumor removed from my hip/ lower back area that has given me a lot of problems. It's one of the reasons I moved here. Contrary to what most people think, the health care here is not free. It's very affordable but definitely not free. This surgery I need to get, it's called ACDF, feel free to google it, would be 10's of thousands of dollars in the states. Here luckily it's a little over a grand with my coverage. I also have some bills from this injury that I need to pay before I can get the surgery. My deductible is 385 euros. So even though it's not that much compared to if I were in the states, I still don't have the money to pay for it. My dad no longer is able to work and what I get monthly in my disability check barely covers the basics. So I ask embarrassingly for any help anyone can give. I really can't go on like how I have been. The pain is so bad I literally cry most days. Thank you.
