Study Abroad/ Mission Trip in Japan

Hey guys! こんにちは!

My name is Julia Curtis and I am going to Japan for 5 months for a study abroad and graphic design internship. The purpose of this trip is to gain an understanding of Japanese culture, art, and language in order to best relate to Japanese society.  The more I understand, the better I can advance the gospel! And that really is my main purpose while I am a student there.

Not only will I be a student/ intern, I will also be a missionary and hope to advance the gospel by cultivating conversations and building lasting friendships. Seeing that over 90% of Japan claims to be Buddhist or Shintoist, this percentage of Japanese people are living without any understanding of who God really is and His great love for them.  My hope is to be a safe place for questions about God and to walk through parts of the bible with those who are open. I have met so many Japanese students that come to DBU from Okayama University (the school I will attend in Japan) that are seeking and wanting to learn more about Christianity! I have been planning this trip for almost a year now, and the time for me to depart is coming soon, specifically April 1- August 15!

It would be an honor for you to join my journey to Japan by supporting me financially. I just know God has so much for me to learn in Japan and your support will mean the world to me. Thank you for your consideration!

Much love in Christ,
Julia Curtis
