As many people in my personal life know, I adopted three kittens after my older sister was murdered when I was just 13 years old. They became my way of coping; they gave me a purpose and a reason to learn to live my life again. Unfortunately, my 5-year-old cat, Thor, was recently diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). If you don’t know what that is, it’s a fatal immune-mediated disease in cats. That means that without treatment, he will die, but treatment is expensive, and while we (my family and I) are doing what we can, anything helps alleviate the financial pressure of this unfortunate situation after many vet appointments, labs, and now expensive prescription medications to get my sweet baby back to normal. These cats are my life, and I’m not ready to let any of them go yet when they’re still so young.
