Hi, my name is Lisa, and I am active duty military. In 2018, while stationed on Guam, I rescued a tiny, scrappy Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix named Rozie (Rose). Rozie was a stray dog living on the beaches of the island, surviving through hunting (which we discourage now) and scraps from passers by. Rozie is 3 1/2 years old and my life was changed forever when she waltzed into it like she owned the place. I was a traumatized mess when I found her, but she saved my life and well, Rozie rescued me right back!

On 1 October 2022, Rozie was attacked and injured at a park in Long Beach, California. Although I am lucky beyond measure Rozie did not die from the attack, she has a long road to recovery. We are still in the early stages of Rozie's care, and as of today (5 Oct), Rozie is suffering from several bite wounds on her legs, hips and stomach. Rozie's vet analyzed her X-rays, and her case has been forwarded to a Vet Orthopedic Surgeon Specialist in Tustin, California, for further evaluation.
