Rose beats cancer
Donation protected
This Wednesday, March 30th at 4:31 pm, I received a text message from my best friend that rocked me to my core. Rose's biopsy results were in and it was confirmed cancer; malignant papillary thyroid carcinoma.
For the last two years, I have been lucky enough to call this amazing soul my friend. I have watched her not only be an incredible mother, but an extraordinary sister, daughter, friend, and partner. I have witnessed her persevere through diagnoses and circumstances that would have destroyed others, and do it with grace and steadfastness that I have a hard time putting into words. No matter what she is going through, she shows only selflessness, putting the needs of others first. Something I, and so many others, can personally attest to.
When I asked her today how I could help, how I could best be a friend to her, she responded with, "let me draw off your strength." So that is what we are going to do. We are going to let Rose draw off our strength. We are going to give back to the woman who gives so much of herself to others.
As I'm sure we can all imagine, a diagnosis of cancer is one that takes not only a physical and emotional toll, it also comes with a heavy financial burden. Unfortunately, Rose receives this diagnosis during a time in which she is without insurance. So while we can't take this from her, we can help to ease the financial burden. I ask if you can't donate, please share and keep Rose and her family in your prayers.
As she would say... thank you, Poodles. We will get through this together.
