Hi, my name is Rashidi Edward, on behalf of the Edward family.
Our mother’s name was Roza Abebwa.
She was a mother of 8, a wife, a daughter, a sister and a friend to many.
She was the light of many, always making jokes, always finding a way to make people laugh even in the hardest moments. She was selfless in every sense of the word, always putting her children and others before herself without hesitation. mum wasn’t just our mum… she was everyone’s mum. The kind of person who made you feel safe, seen, and cared for.
We could go on all day about the kind of woman she was, but what matters most is this we loved her more than words can ever truly express. And one of our deepest regrets is that we didn’t say it enough while she was here.
Just four weeks ago, our brother wrote a poem about his biggest fears in life. At the very top of that list was losing a loved one. Which we all related. never imagined that only weeks later, we would be living that exact nightmare.
Our mum’s life was taken in a tragic accident. A driver failed to stop at a give way intersection and crashed into them over. In the same incident, our cousin and our little 2-year-old sister were also injured and hospitalised.
We are heartbroken to say that life will never be the same without her. She was our foundation, our strength, and our home.
We are now facing not only the emotional weight of this loss, but also the financial burden that comes with it, including funeral costs, ongoing support for my injured family members, and helping our family get through this devastating time.
Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you for taking the time to read about our mum. And thank you for helping us honour her life.
Rest in peace mama. We love you always.
Edwards Family xx
