We will be running the Loch Rannoch marathon on the 16th of October.
We hope to raise funds for two special charities with two special people in mind.
My brother Davy Zyw was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease 4 years ago, aged only 30. He has been fundraising for MND research ever since with his RideForMND Team, completing feats of incredible endurance cycling and raising over £200k in the process. A remarkable achievement, especially considering the disease has increasingly affected his ability to do so. Running the marathon is our attempt to help raise awareness and hopefully contribute to MND research. There is currently no cure. Please read about Davy and the RideForMND Team here:
Rudi Abbot was diagnosed with a Grade 4 brain tumour in 2020, aged 6. After intensive treatment at home and abroad, Rudi’s life began to return to normal, only to be told earlier this year the tumour had returned. This devastating news was compounded by the fact the NHS could do little more to help. Our friendship with the Abbot family dates back 40 years. With the NHS no longer an option, Rudi needs specialist treatment in Seattle. Please help us help them by raising funds so that Rudi can get the only treatment now available. Read Rudi’s story here:
Training has been tough! Juggling two training programmes with childcare and work isn’t easy… Roz is no spring chicken, and I’m not getting any younger!! Our knees ache, our hip joints grind, and our feet are blistered, but we are determined to do it!
