Malow Junior High Students Head to Globals!
2016 Destination Imagination Global Finals
Knoxville, Tennessee | May 25-28, 2016
Six Malow Junior High students, known as The Royals, have advanced to the 2016 Destination Imagination (DI) Global Finals competition in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 25-28. They have all worked so hard for this opportunity and are thrilled to be able to demonstrate their talents while representing Utica Community Schools and the State of Michigan, at this international competition.
DI is a creative problem solving competition in which student teams create a solution to an improvisational, technical, scientific, service learning, or artistic/fine arts challenge. The Royals will present their team solution as a mystery story set in Medieval England where the audience (and the performers) will discover, live on stage, which of the three suspect characters is responsible for the mystery! The competition is fierce, but this Malow DI team has been preparing since September, meeting after school and on the weekends, and they are ready to showcase their work.
We Need You
It's a huge honor for this team to be selected to compete at Global Finals after placing at the regional and state levels, but the teams can't go onto Globals without YOU!
In addition to registration fees, the students are responsible for transportation costs, and food and accommodations in Tennessee. However, this campaign specifically seeks to raise funds to pay for their registration fees, and with only a few weeks to go until Globals, the pressure is on.
We invite you to share in our experience by making a tax deductible contribution. Any amount is appreciated.
Thank you for supporting these young, creative minds--the next generation of innovators and leaders!

Congratulations to the students advancing to Global Finals!
The Royals: Davison Brooks, Marissa Gleason, Brynn Kieliszewski, Ava Waligora, Mallory Waligora, and Noelle Yasso.
