My name is Greta and on the 2nd May, I will be doing the South Downs Challenge to raise money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, walking 26 miles across the South Downs National Trail.

In December 2023, my mum Domina was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer and referred to the Royal Marsden Hospital for specialist medical care. Whilst this journey has been incredibly gruelling for her and us as a family, we know how lucky she is to be receiving treatment at the Marsden, with access to an amazing standard of care and clinical trials that would likely not have been possible elsewhere. Despite how painful and difficult the past two years have been, one positive constant has been the support from the wonderful Royal Marsden nurses, doctors and other staff and volunteers, who have done so much to make life with cancer slightly easier for my brilliant mum.

Not only can donating help to fund life-saving cancer research and clinical trials at the Royal Marsden, but prehabilitation services that support patients receiving treatment and even counselling services for both patients and their families.
