Roy Slade a true local hero and legend, taken too soon! Roy lost his courageous and short battle on Saturday 28th February 2026 leaving his heartbroken wife Carol behind and a huge amount of friends/family heartbroken to.

As we all know the outpouring of love and kind words over the past few days really show the fabulous guy Roy really was.

How can we all help, lets rally around Carol and give her the support, that we know Roy would have wanted and appreciated.

Roy and Carol were childhood sweethearts, who found each other again 2 years ago and married on 16th December 2025, cementing what they both know, they were made for each other.

Carol has been robbed too soon of making all those precious memories and let’s see how each of us can help her, give Roy the send off he deserves.

Roy knew so many people and helped so many young people and adults within different parts of the community, especially around his football.
