Roy has cancer and we are raising funds for treatment to address his difficult symptoms.
I have known Roy my whole life. He lived next door to me in Kottakarai (in Auroville) when I was born. At that time he worked at the Matrimandir and The Nursery. Later, Roy and I were neighbors in Aurodam, when he edited the AV News and Notes. Roy is wise, generous, and quietly elegant. He is a Go expert and plays the music of Pat Matheny.
Many of you know Roy as an excellent cook, and some of you were lucky to enjoy the famous Sunday red rice dosa brunch he and Gillian served for years, in their delightful garden.
Roy was born and raised in New Jersey, USA. He had his bar mitzvah at Congregation Beth El in South Orange and graduated from Columbia High School in Maplewood in 1967. He became an Aurovilian on April 1, 1971.
Roy is getting top-quality care now at Apollo hospitals in Chennai. Through friends and Auroville connections we are in touch with director-level doctors who have been incredibly kind and gracious, offering Roy highly discounted rates. Please help Roy cover the costs for this treatment.
