Hi, my name is Cherish and alongside my incredible support system, we are fundraising to raise enough money for my husband to get a years worth of private therapy. Please continue to read to understand why we are so desperate and why we are asking for help.

Roy is 40 years old and has been systematically let down by all authorities throughout his life. Starting as a baby, being left in the care of his abusive mother. Social services repeatedly failing to protect him. A childhood engulfed with the most heinous child abuse including physical abuse, mental abuse and even sexual abuse. His adolescence and early adulthood riddled with alcohol abuse, homelessness, self harm etc. All with zero support or help in place.

Over ten years ago, Roy got his life on track and tried to bury his demons - however, his traumas have been constantly affecting his life coming to ahead in the recent years.

After multiple suicide attempts (all miraculously being stopped by his wife) Last year Royston was sectioned for six weeks with promises of a CPN, therapy etc upon release, all of which he is still waiting for 12 months later. While in hospital he was diagnosed with EUPD and PTSD alongside his already existing diagnoses of depression, anxiety and extensive trauma. Then on February 9th 2023 after being triggered by an incident at work, Royston fooled everyone around him in to thinking it was a normal day. However, instead he had devised a plan of what he hoped would be his final suicide attempt. Royston was reported missing and after several tortorous hours, was thankfully found by the police after taking a massive, almost fatal overdose. Roy was very unwell and was rushed to UHCW where he had to be pumped full of reversal medications, he was unconscious for almost 24 hours, on oxygen etc. He was in a very bad way and as a result, his liver has suffered damage. Had he been found any later, he wouldn't have made it.

Ultimately, we cannot wait for therapy on the NHS anymore and it's not something we can afford to fund ourselves, especially now Royston is unemployed.

We have created this go fund me page to try get some support and all the money would go towards getting the help he needs and giving him a fresh start. I am aware that these pages do attract unwanted hate but if it means that my husband gets the help he needs so he can heal, be a husband and watch his children grow up then I will take any hate thrown my way. Roy deserves to heal.

We want to keep raising awareness about mental health, abuse, suicide and in time start petitions which will help survivors such as Roy. This is only just the beginning; our story isn’t over yet.
