Roy Gains MH Campaign

Hi, my name is Colleen Meredith and I am currently raising funds to help support Roy Gains (Orrantia) as he transitions out of a mental health facility. Roy has struggled with his mental health for a long time, however, it has become more serious within the last two years. Many of our family and friends are aware of a manic episode that occurred 2 years ago at a Strongman competition in Flagstaff, Arizona. Since then, Roy has been hospitalized a number of times due to his diagnosis of schizo-effective disorder. Roy had an amazing year this past year taking care of his mental health and being extremely successful at the Official Strongman Games and America’s Strongest Man. I couldn’t be more proud of the growth he’s experienced. Even so, Roy still has been working diligently with psychiatrists and psychologists to help with his schizophrenia and recently he was switched to a medicine that resulted in another major manic state which he is now currently seeking treatment for. On the outside, I have been working diligently on Roy’s SMI case management and application for DDD (disability services). My goal with this GoFundMe is to help Roy financially after he is released until we are approved for disability. I couldn’t express my gratitude enough for those of you who have stood beside us through this whole rollercoaster and know that my appreciation cannot be emphasized enough.
