Hi my name is Kristine Chapman.

 

My dad, Roy Chapman was an honorable, respectable and incredible father, husband, grandpa, brother & friend.

On Saturday, October 23rd 2021 around 5:45pm, he went to heaven. He was home with his dogs, his family and watching the ball game, just like he would've wanted.

 

As many of you may or may not know (my dad was a private person) my dad tirelessly battled Stage 4 Colorectal Cancer. The past 3 months were filled with CT scans, blood work, doc appts, 2 rounds of chemotherapy and 1 round of radiation. After the 2nd round of chemo, we found out the cancer spread to his pelvis and upper GI tract, including his clavicle area. My dad was still hopeful and even through this time, he wanted no pity. He did not want to be treated or looked at differently.

 

My dad went through so much once he was diagnosed. While he quietly suffered, he never wanted anyone to know he was sick or in pain. He wanted to be no burden. Never wanted anyone to worry about him. The only thing that mattered to him was his family & watching sports on TV (and in person when he could).

 

In order to give my dad the most beautiful service & ensure all his medical bills are taken of, I created this goFundMe. I know my dad is watching over me wondering "why in the hell are you creating this". He is probably up in heaven saying "nah nah, don't be doing that!" My dad has so much pride and never asked anyone for help, from anyone.

 

But I know that I need to do the right thing for my mom and help her through this tough time. The last thing my dad would've wanted is for my mom to worry about his medical bills that are coming in daily. Countless scans and countless doctors he would see weekly, he really did have the best team behind him and we are forever grateful to St. Joseph's Oncology team.

 

If you can find it in your heart to donate to my dad, the most selfless, humble and admirable man, our entire family would be forever grateful. Everyone that knows my dad has great memories with him. The hardest working person I know.
