Roy & Berty’s House Fire

I never thought i'd be setting up a gofundme page however, this past Wednesday (March 20th) my mom and step dad's home suffered a fire loss to include smoke and water damage to the entire home.
It was a calm, late afternoon interrupted by a small explosion. There was heavy smoke in the sky and when they came around to the front of the house, they saw the entire garage was engulfed in flames. My niece, her little brother and her grandmother were visiting at the time. San Antonio Fire Department responded quickly and everyone was able to run to a neighbors house to safety. My brother's cat Cosmo was saved however the grandchildren's 4 little mice perished in the fire.
There will be a long road to recovery. They will be displaced for at least 6 months while they rebuild their home. Everything Roy owned and treasured was burned completely and my mom' s car incinerated. Most all of their contents sustained fire, smoke and/or water damage. We are grateful they have insurance to cover the rebuild of their home however there is much they will need in the meantime that we'd like to ask help for. They did not have rental reimbursement for their cars and because my mom's car was over 10 years old she will not receive much at all to replace it. They are on a very fixed income and we'd like to raise some funds to help get her a decent, pre-owned, reliable car. Her love is to care for her grandchildren so a car is a necessity at this time.
We are so thankful that no human was injured! We are grateful for the outpouring of prayers, thoughts, kind words, calls and texts. My family is fortunate that we have such a strong support system with friends, neighbors, church family and more. We love you.
