Dog attack-Roxy's Vet Bills:(

Donation protected
I am seeking help for Roxy, my miniature dachshund's, vet bills following a traumatic dog attack on her in March.

On March 9th; I let the dogs outside in my backyard and I immediately started hearing Roxy scream. I ran outside and saw the neighbors 2 dogs in my backyard attacking her and I panicked. I put my other dogs in the house and tried to get them off of her and they finally let go and ran back into their yard. (They had busted through the fence.) It was the scariest thing I have ever experienced. There was blood everywhere and Roxy wouldn't let me touch her. I ran next door but nobody answered the door for me. I finally was able to get Roxy onto a pillow and rushed to the Emergency vet. They were able to put her on pain medication but said I needed to make a decision on either putting her down or taking her to a bigger facility in Irving to save her. Roxy has been my baby for the last 10 years and I had to try to save her.

My dad went to my house and talked to the neighbors, landlord and waited for animal control. The neighbors and landlord said they would pay whatever bills we incurred.

I took Roxy to VCA of Irving and immediately took great care of her but made no promises as she had major trauma. Roxy had punctured lungs, half of her ribs were broken, she had a puncture on her bladder and a herniated abdomen. Once they got into surgery on Friday morning they had to remove part of her colon and small intestine and rebuild her abdominal wall. She stayed there for another 2 days before I could take her home.

It was the best feeling to see her wagging her tail at me when I came to pick her up. The next few weeks she mainly rested and I had to give her antibiotics 3x a day and keep her secluded. It's been a month and she's almost back to her normal self and I'm so thankful for the doctors at VCA.

Now for the bills.... the first bill I received for the Burleson emergency visit was for $623.60. Then we went to the 2nd emergency hospital in Irving for surgery which totaled $4680.98. I'm now at 5,304.58 total in bills that I'm not sure how I am going to pay. Since being home I have been given the run around from the neighbors and their landlord on the bills. They don't intend to pay for any of it. The neighbors do not have renters insurance and the landlords home owners doesn't want to pay. My home owners will not cover it either. I've reached out for legal advice and they told me I can go to small claims court but will cost even more money.

Ive had many people asking how they could help and I've agonized over asking for help; but I don't know what else to do. Any donation for Roxy's bills are greatly appreciated and will 100% go to paying off this debt. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for the kindness and caring that has come her way so far.
