Roxy is a 9-year-old Labradoodle who’s captured every heart she’s met since coming into our care. When Roxy first arrived with us at Lola’s Trust, she had been left alone in a property – underweight, anxious, and in desperate need of reassurance. Thankfully, she found her forever home with Nikki in Eastbourne. With time, love, and stability, Roxy transformed into a playful, confident dog with a big love for toys and chasing a ball.
But just four months into her new life, Roxy began to struggle. She became wobbly on her legs and withdrawn. Since then, she’s been on pain medication, taking short stroller walks, and doing her best to stay strong. And last week, her condition worsened – her front legs gave way during a toilet break, and she was unable to get up. An emergency referral and MRI confirmed she has two ruptured discs in her spine.
The good news is, surgery can restore her mobility and quality of life. The operation costs £8,000. Insurance will cover £3,000, so we’re aiming to raise the remaining £5,000 to give Roxy the second chance she deserves.
Right now, she can’t walk, can’t lift her head for treats, and eats lying down. But with your help, she can get back to the playful, happy life she fought so hard to find. Any donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards Roxy’s surgery. Thank you so much for your kindness and support.
