Roxanne Relief Fund

Roxanne Kelley is a beloved aide at Pine Valley Elementary School.  On April 2, 2020, while helping to deliver lunches to students within our district, she had a seizure lasting ten minutes.   Upon being admitted to Buffalo General Hospital and after several tests, it was determined that Roxanne had a brain tumor.  It was the size of an egg and was located on the left side of her brain which affects speech and cognitive thinking.   A body scan also showed that Roxanne has another tumor on the other side of her brain as well.   On April 6 Roxie underwent a biopsy and the results showed she has Glioblastomas (also called GBM), a malignant Grade IV tumor.  In general, these tumors tend to be slower growing initially, but can progressively become aggressive.   On April 15, Roxy underwent surgery to remove the large tumor.  The surgeons are optimistic and feel they have gotten the whole tumor at this time.  More surgeries may be in the future along with chemotherapy and radiation treatments.  But only time will tell at this point.

To make things worse, Roxanne has had to endure all the testing, treatments and surgery alone due to Covid-19.   Her only glimpse of family has been outside her hospital window.  

Roxanne is married to Jeremy Kelley, a self-employed dairy farmer and has two young children, Brian (9) and Grace (5).  Anyone who knows Roxy, knows that a kinder, more gentle person would be hard to find.   Her genuine joy and happiness for life is contagious and hard to ignore.  There is no greater joy for Roxanne than being with her family.

It is unknown if or when Roxanne will be able to return to work.  Therefore,  if you would like to donate financially and help support Roxanne and her family during this difficult time, it would be greatly appreciated.
