Roxana Westington

Hello, My name is Mariah Frazee-Antaramian and Roxana’s daughter Michaela is a very close family friend. I also had the honor of meeting Michaela’s older sister Diana, who is newly married and has a brand new baby. Michaela has been my son’s math tutor for 7 years and helps a lot of other kids in the greater Placer County area.

If you know the Westington family, you know what an amazing family they are. Unfortunately tragedy has hit this family in ways that no one should ever experience and unfortunately they’ve been hit with another unthinkable tragedy this week.

Alex Westington, Michaela and Diana’s little sister passed away suddenly at the age of 13, and their dad Brian passed away 3 months later after battling cancer. This left Roxana, Michaela, and Diana grief stricken and trying to navigate life with their new reality.

For the past few years, they’ve done their best to work through their grief and live without their sister, dad, and husband, but it hasn’t been easy. As you can imagine, it’s taken a toll and over the course of 5 years, Roxana’s health has declined.

I’ve pasted the message from Michaela that was posted to her Facebook yesterday. My hope is that we can all come together to help Michaela as she has been left with extensive funeral expenses as well as a home and bills that she’s never had to pay before. This is a lot for anyone, but even more for a young woman who will be taking this on alone.

“As many of you know, my mom has suffered with heart problems for many years that worsened after the loss of both my dad and Alex. In the last few months, she contracted covid twice just a few weeks apart from one another. Unfortunately, her heart problems as well as other health issues put her at very high risk for complications. Last week, she went into cardiac arrest. They performed CPR en route to the hospital, but she went quite a long time without oxygen to her brain which resulted in extensive brain damage. My mom is now on end of life care and will not be surviving the extent of the brain injury. It is reassuring to find solace in the fact that Alex and my parents will all be together again despite all of the misfortune. Funeral information will follow at a later time.”

I know times are tough right now, but any amount can help go towards Roxana’s final expenses and helping Michaela get on her feet.

I know she appreciates all of the support she’s been given and my goal is to carry her and her sister through this time with as much help as we can give them.

We don’t have funeral details just yet, but I will add them to this post once the details have been finalized.

At this time, please allow Michaela and Diana time to process the situation. They will likely not have time to answer the phone, but please know that they’re thankful for your thoughts and prayers and will be posting arrangements as soon as we have them.

Thank you.
