This GoFundMe is set to raise money for the Bigger's family who's amazing two year old daughter, Roywn, has been diagnosed with LCH. The money will be put towards to helping them with the many medical bills that they will be accruing during Roywn's treatment. Please take a moment to read below and learn more about the Bigger's families personal story.
The Biggers' story involves our almost 2 year old daughter who was always on the move, being a very independent lil gal. We progressively began noticing a change in her. She would cry when we set her down to walk or transitioned her from laying down to sitting, to the point we could tell she was in pain. She finally progressed to needing to be carried and would not sit or stand unsupported. Both my wife and I are in healthcare and have enough knowledge to know something more was going than just being a stubborn 2 year old.
We quickly went to our primary care provider who ordered blood and urine test along with an X-ray. The X-ray showed two lesions one in her skull and one at T9. Once our PCP got the results we received a phone call to get to the hospital as soon as possible to have a spine/brain/skull MRI to confirm the radiologist suspicions that she had LCH. Once the MRI was complete the neurologist was able to confirm her spine was stable but that they needed a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. It was quickly confirmed to be LCH, next step was a PET CT scan to make sure there were no other areas of disease. Next on the to do list is surgery to place an IV port to make treatment easier on sis so she's not getting poked with an IV each time. After surgery we will meet with her oncologist again to learn more about what treatment will consist of. We have been very blessed with lots of family, friends, co-workers and other people's support and prayers. We can't thank people enough for all that they have done for our family during this time we are truly lucky to have the support group that we have. Everyone's continued prayers and support are appreciated.
