Rowing for Heroes
Donation protected
Who: I’m a physical rehabilitation trainer, an athlete, a former EMT and a New Yorker. My friends, family and neighbors are among survivors of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the United States in New York City.
What: Rowing a marathon (42,195 meters) on a Concept 2 Indoor Rower.
When: September 27th, 2019, 11:00am
Where: New York City, NY (please contact me for location) Why: I started this GoFundMe as an effort for awareness and fundraising for the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund. Finally, on July 29th, 2019 the Never Forget the Heroes: James Zadroga, Ray Pfeifer, and Luis Alvarez Permanent Authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act became public law, authorizing $10.2B of federal funding to compensate emergency workers and others who became ill as a result of their work in the ruins of the World Trade Center, extending it for the lifetime of those who were at September 11’s Ground Zero. What now: My fundraising efforts continue. All monies raised will be redirected to the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation , a New York City-based non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization honoring the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others during the terror attacks on September 11, 2001. The Foundation also honors our military and first responders who continue to make the ultimate sacrifice for our country. How you can help: It took NYC’s emergency personnel heroes five seconds to respond to the WTC after the first plane hit on 9/11. Please take five seconds to share this link on your social media, and make a monetary donation if you’re able to. TLDR: On September 27th, 2019 I will row a marathon 42,195m on a Concept 2 Indoor Rowing machine to raise money for the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation.
