Want to join me in making a difference? On Dec 17, 2022, I'm rowing a full marathon (yes all 42,195 meters!) to raise money to benefit the Sgt Thomas M Gilbert Memorial Fund. Any donation will help make an impact to thousands of children by encouraging and teaching children about the outdoors and get them excited about spending time outside.

The Sgt. Thomas M. Gilbert Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that exists to promote youth appreciation and education of the outdoors.

As most of you know, Tom & I served together in Fallujah, Iraq and in Oct 2006, Tom was taken from us too soon. Tom was the type to take on challenges with both enthusiasm and appreciation. He enjoyed working with children and had a great love for the outdoors. As Tom traveled the world, he was able to enjoy both of these.

One example of the impact of this foundation is the hundreds of children who get an opportunity to learn to fish. Every year the foundation holds a Fishing Day to teach children about the outdoors and get them excited about spending time outside. It is our way of encouraging families to spend time together outdoors, and is hosted in appreciation of services provided by military, police, fire and medical personnel.

In his honor, this foundation was created to combine two of Tom's greatest joys and we will work hard to create something he would be proud of.
