“Let’s raise a glass to the hard working people…” As Canada Day approaches and The Tragically Hip echo from backyards across the country, there’s no better time to rally behind two of our own who are about to do something truly Canadian and represent our country on the world rowing stage !

We’re calling on friends, family, our Niagara community and beyond to come together to support Myles Quintyn and Virginia Gates, two dedicated athletes from the Niagara Falls Rowing Club/Saint Paul Catholic High School, who are honoured to have been selected by Rowing Canada Aviron (RCA) to proudly wear the maple leaf this summer as members of the Junior National Team.

Myles Quintyn will row for Canada at the International Rowing Challenge (ICR) in Ann Arbor, Michigan July 15th - 16th.

Virginia Gates will represent Canada at the World Rowing Under 19 Championships in Trakai, Lithuania August 6th - 10th.

These opportunities are a dream come true, but they come with a price. Competing at the Junior National (U19) level is independently funded, and these athletes are looking for help to cover their costs of $4,500 per athlete.

This covers:

* Travel to and from the competition site

* Accommodations and meals (each will be on-site for approx. 8 days of pre-race training)

* Coaching fees and team support

* Boat and equipment rentals

* Team Canada racing kits and more

Let’s show these young athletes that we can support our own. Any donation, big or small , will help Myles and Virginia chase their dreams and represent Canada with great pride.
