Our rowing team Skerry Friends will be taking part in the Great River Race, the annual Thames marathon, on 20th September in our skerry, St.Helena which is based in Richmond. One of our number, much loved Ricky Raworth, recently lost his life to Parkinson's Disease so we have decided to honour his memory by raising funds for Cure Parkinson's. This is a leading international medical research charity which funds research that will have an impact on the lives of the 10 million people living with Parkinson’s worldwide, with the hope of an eventual cure for the condition. Everything they do is to move them closer to their goal, of finding new treatments to slow, stop or reverse the progression of Parkinson’s.

So every donation of whatever size will help to encourage us on 20th September, and to bring forward the chance of a breakthrough which everyone is hoping for.
