Hello, my name is Kristin and I'm trying to raise money for my husband, Chanel, to make it home for his mother's funeral.

Rowina went into the hospital on April 1st, and quickly lost the battle against an aggressive infection three days later. She contracted dengue fever, along with her diabetes levels spiking, the infection quickly spread to her heart. The hospital did all that they could to help her fight the infection, but unfortunately, she lost the battle in the early hours of April 4th.

Rowina was only 58, she has five sons and one daughter along with grandchildren. Including our two that she never got to meet in person. We were planning a trip to American Samoa to visit her later this year and so this loss is absolutely devastating. Especially since Chanel hasn't seen his mother since 2012.

Chanel and his mother had a very special relationship. He is the oldest son and helped his mother care for his younger brothers. Chanel was very close with her, they talked, and video chatted a couple times a week. Rowina always took time out of her day to send him a good morning message and wish him a blessed day. She was such a sweet woman, always thinking of others before herself. Anytime I talked with her she always made me feel special and never ended a conversation without saying I love you.

Round trip plane tickets are so very expensive, especially on short notice. I am trying to raise enough money for his ticket along with some extra to help with funeral arrangements. Flights out are only on Monday and Thursday; I'm trying to get him home by April 22nd so he can help with the arrangements in time for the funeral on April 26th.
