Rowena Concho Memorial Fund

Mom passed away last Thursday. She was a beautiful woman with the most giving spirit. She'd give you the shirt off her back If you needed it. She served in the US Navy for a decade as a machinist in Operation Desert Storm and continued to help other Veterans through her years as a claims processor at the Veterans Affairs Hospital Loma Linda. She always strived to stand up for what was right. Her death was an unexpected accident. She was on the mend and happy. She was trying to regain life and strength to live in order to be present watching her three grandchildren grow up whom she loved so much. She was smiling evey day during her last month. She will be buried on her reservation in Acoma, NM in accordance with her Native American traditions. Her family will be covering the cost of her viewing and burial but with the distance of her transportation from Long Beach to NM, the costs are high. She will get back home no matter what, but any monetary assistance will help.
