It’s Fontan time! Rowan Wright is facing another open heart surgery—the last in a threefold surgical process to reengineer his heart to work in reverse due to his HLHS (hypostatic left heart syndrome). 

While we look forward to the day when this sweet boy will be able to run around and play like a normal kid without endangering his heart, this day will not come without a fight. 

Rowan’s Fontan surgery is scheduled for July 10th. He will be at the skilled hands of his incredible surgical team for 7-9 hours. This is an eternity for his adoring, anxious family. The surgery is wildly complex, and complications abound. His recovery will be rough on both him and his caregivers.
