Memorial for Rowan ‍♂️

Our Story

Rowan was one of life’s best—a woman who loved with her whole heart, fully and fiercely. She had a rare, gentle spirit and an infectious laugh that brought light to everyone who knew her. She touched so many people’s hearts deeply and effortlessly, asking for nothing in return.

For years, Southchurch Park has been a spot where we’ve all hung out together—enjoying family picnics, watching the children play, and spending lovely days catching up. Because the park holds so many memories of us simply being together, we want to create a permanent space for her there.

Our Goal

We are raising funds to install a memorial bench in the park. We want it to be a place that reflects the spirit of the poem "Sit with me awhile"—a spot where her family and many friends can take a moment out of their busy lives to sit, reflect, and feel close to her again.

Rowan was devoted beyond measure to her family and friends. We hope this bench will be a place where we can all go to remember the good times, the stories, and the beautiful soul we lost far too soon.

How You Can Help

The cost of installing and maintaining a memorial bench in a public park is quite high, often reaching upwards of £1,500.

We are reaching out to anyone who knew and loved Rowan to help us make this happen. Any donation, no matter the size, would be so gratefully received. All funds will go directly toward the cost of the bench, the memorial plaque, and the council's installation fees.
