Lime Academy Orton is a school for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Our school serves the warm and welcoming community of Peterborough and it's surrounding villages.

At Lime Academy Orton we offer enrichment activities across the school year. We want our learners to have a range of experiences that celebrates the wonderful diversity of our school community. These experiences are carefully planned to allow all learners the opportunity to generalise their skills in different settings during national and religious events.

Sports Week 2025

This year we are celebrating our own Sports Week from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th May. It is going to be a week focusing on promoting sport, health and wellbeing through a range of exciting activities.

Row Your Own Way 2025

Last year we raised an incredible £1500 during our Tour de Lime fundraiser and we were able to provide specialist therapeutic intervention resources for our physiotherapy and outdoor learning.

This year our school staff will be taking part in a sponsored rowing event throughout the week. We will be attempting to row the length of the River Nene which is a whopping 169km!

Every morning, lunch time and after school our staff will join in the rowing challenge on rowing machines in our school atriums as we climb up to our target of 169km.

Any money raised during this challenge will go towards funding equipment within our hydrotherapy pool. We are incredibly fortunate to have a hydrotherapy pool on our school site for our learners to access. Our long term aim is to add to our hydrotherapy offer by offering sound baths and massages at the pool alongside hydrotherapy sessions. This fundraiser will support purchasing equipment to support our learners to be positioned comfortably at the pool during these sessions and also specialised hydrotherapy equipment to be used in the water.

All of our learners have an Education Health Care Plan and supporting them to be comfortable, happy and healthy is a priority in our school. We do a range of activities and lessons linked to support their Sensory and Physical skills and hydrotherapy is an important part of many of our learners lives.
