#ROW WITH YOUR STRUGGLE
I, Shane Warde and David Morrin are completing an ENDURANCE CHALLENGE on the 5th of December raising money for two charities Pieta House and Mayo Mental Health. We aim to:
· Cycle to Croagh Patrick (51 km)
· Carry a Concept 2 Rowing machine up Croagh Patrick (764 metres elevation)
· Row 20,000 metres (20km)
· Carry the Concept 2 machine down Croagh Patrick
· Cycle back to Cong (51 km)
David:
As a teacher and trainee Psychotherapist, I am passionate about helping people find and understand coping strategies to work through difficult periods in their life. This challenge will be difficult but no more so than what people are struggling through at this present moment with Covid 19. Shane and I are hoping to raise money and awareness for two mental health organisations; Pieta House and Mayo Mental Health.
Shane:
I am the owner of NCCFitness Gym in Cong. Over the last five years I have seen the positive benefits health and fitness has on the mind and body. ‘What the mind believes the body achieves’. Exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression and improves low self-esteem and cognitive function. This year has been an exceptional tough for many. Many people are facing an uncertainty of what the future may hold. Now more than ever is the time to get out in nature for a walk or run, to breath in the fresh air and to speak to a family member or friend if you are struggling. David and I are completing this challenge for two charities to show people that there are always brighter days ahead and there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
We would really appreciate any donation you can make to these two wonderful charities who work endlessly to help people struggling with their mental health.
