This December, I’ll be rowing 100km on a rowing machine to raise money for Phoebe’s Challenge. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help and be deeply appreciated by Phoebe and her family. Phoebe is a family friend. Below is her story:
In February Phoebe was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive liver cancer. She’s already had over 80% of her liver removed in an attempt to remove the tumours but they came back and is now bravely enduring 18 weeks of intensive chemotherapy.
Once this finishes, she will need a living donor liver transplant something no child in the UK has ever had for this cancer type. The NHS have said no to the transplant, they’ve effectively been blocked from seeking private treatment here in the UK. The family now are exploring options outside of Europe, which are incredibly costly.
