My name is Lezlie Rovnanik. My daughter, Nicole Rovnanik, her boyfriend, Grant Abbott, and the three kids [Payton (5), Bristol (3) and Timothy (11 weeks)] had their trailer declared uninhabitable by Hillsborough County Code Investigators the day after the outer bands of Hurricane Hermine went through Valrico, Florida. It has not been determined whether there was a "micro-burst", sustained heavy winds, or a tornado, but more than half their trailer park sustained damages, and several were tagged as catastrophic damages. I was visiting the night that Hurricane Hermine turned their world inside out. We watched the ceiling lift and then drop back down while we were sitting beneath it. By the time we got the kids to the bathtub (the safest place I could think of), it was over. We are so very thankful that no one was hurt, but the entire family (especially Payton) was traumatized. They are currently staying at a hotel, but funds are severely limited. They have reached out to the Red Cross, FEMA, social services and several local churches, and they might receive assistance, but they have been told it will take time. because their area was not declared a "State or National Disaster Area".
I am starting this fund to try to get enough money to pay the first and last month's rent, deposits such as utilities, moving costs, and replacement costs for items damaged by the wind and/or rain, so they can rent a house and get back on their feet. Their need is immediate. There is only enough money available for a few more days at a hotel. Thank you.
