I want to share a heartfelt story with you, one that is deeply personal and touches on the power of friendship and resilience, especially in challenging times. Our dear friend, Kevin, has been a vital part of our journeys in India, and now he needs our help.

For those who have traveled to India, you know the chaos that can be the country's roads. But whenever Kevin was behind the wheel, we felt safe. He's been our trusted driver on countless adventures, including our most cherished memory - the journey to the orphanage where we met our son for the first time. Kevin's dedication and care were unwavering.

Before the pandemic, Kevin supported his family by driving and guiding tourists through the enchanting landscapes of Kerala, India. He was not just a driver but an enthusiastic tour guide, sharing his profound knowledge of his beloved homeland with pride.

Then COVID-19 struck, and like many others, Kevin's life took an unexpected turn. The tourism industry, upon which his family depended, ground to a halt. With no income, they faced tremendous hardships. Illness forced them into the hospital frequently, draining their resources. They had to make the painful decision to give up their car and apartment, moving into a rented room in a house with strangers.

Kevin's struggles didn't end there. He faced a series of health challenges, including a minor stroke and the unfortunate experience of being bit by a rabid dog, which required over 30 injections.

In time, as the COVID situation improved, his wife Soumya managed to secure a full-time job at a bakery. It became their lifeline, but there was a catch. The job was far from home, pubic buses we unreliable and unsafe due to COVID forcing Soumya to live away from her family during the week. This situation continues to this day because they lack the means to own a vehicle. There are very few opportunities for Kevin to earn money as a driver and he is now the primary caregiver for their young son.

Now, as their friends who have experienced the warmth of Kevin's hospitality and the beauty of India through his eyes, we have an opportunity to make a difference. We're launching this GoFundMe campaign to help Kevin and his family buy a scooter which would allow them to live together and bring more ease to their daily lives.

Our goal is to raise funds to provide Kevin with a reliable vehicle so Soumya can be reunited with her family every day, easing the strain they've endured for so long. With your support, we can help Kevin regain his livelihood and rebuild his life.
